The Only Play Dough Recipe You Will Ever Need

Play dough is such a versatile kids activity. It’s open ended so it really allows kids to use their imagination! It has sensory benefits too because of its texture and bright colors. 

I love making my own play dough because it’s quick, inexpensive and easy. An added benefit is that I know exactly what goes into it and since it has no harmful ingredients it is totally safe to play with.

If you only want to make one color you can add the food coloring right at the beginning with the rest of the ingredients. 

Store the play dough in an airtight container or zip lock bag when not using it. It has a very long shelf life, I only need to replace mine once all the colors have mixed together and I feel like we need some fresh colors again. 

My kids love using their toy cars and animals to make impressions in the play dough. My son likes to feed the play dough to his toy animals too. 

Another great idea for play dough is to make a big batch and use it as party favors! You can add a cookie cutter which goes with the theme of your party into a little zip lock bag with the play dough. The kids will love it.
